Senior Director/Director/Associate Director, Analytics

We are keen to invite bright, qualified and committed professionals to apply for the following job opportunity in a credit rating company based in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume lead analytical responsibility for a portfolio of corporate credits (and to a lesser extent FIs and NBFIs) primarily in China
  • Lead a team of analysts to cover assigned corporate credits
  • Lead a team of analysts to conduct onsite client visits
  • Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on each issuer in a portfolio at rating committees
  • Write in-depth, high-quality, insightful and focused research on credit trends and specific issuers
  • Act as a credit committee member and attend credit committee meetings
  • Monitor economic and industry trends and developments, analyze covered corporate financial statements, monitor financial market activities, analyze credit quality using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and accumulate in-depth knowledge of the covered industries and credits
  • Build and maintain high quality relationships with senior management of the covered issuers
  • Assign analytical task work to junior analysts and manage various stages of rating assignments to ensure their timely and accurate deliveries
  • Develop and nurture junior analysts by providing guidance and training to them
  • Ensure all analytical workflow are in compliance with the prescribed rating policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in regular outreach events such as investor briefings, teleconferences, conferences and third-party presentations
  • Some public speaking and travel would be required

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or equivalent, in Economics, Finance, Business, Risk Management or Accounting
  • Relevant experience of 5 to 10 years in credit rating/research or relevant corporate finance is essential
  • Specific industry sector coverage is essential
  • Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
  • Financial modelling and statistical research capabilities
  • Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principal is essential
  • Knowledge of Chinese corporate culture and business etiquette is essential
  • Excellent communication skills in Mainland Chinese linguistics and English – able to communicate clearly and precisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly organized and efficient, with a capability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Managerial experience is highly desired but not required
  • Strong MS Office skills; principally Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Candidates with lesser qualification and experience will be considered for the role of Associate Director
